Gloucester crime update for January 3023

January was a good month with generally lower levels of crime in Gloucester City and District and that is the reason you have not heard from us. There were 56 dwelling burglaries ( below the average 2 per day), 59 non domestic, garages and sheds etc. and 80 car crimes. This is in contrast to the early part of 2011 where crime levels were much higher. This last weekend however we saw 10 domestic burglaries and 14 car crimes which would indicate that offenders have become more active. The burglaries were fairly well spread around but the car crimes mainly occurred in Tuffley and Barton and involved a high proportion of insecure vehicles. Please make you Neighbours aware that they should continue to report all suspicious persons or incidents immediately to the police.
