This is a message from Alan Hardacre at the Neighbourhood Watch office Bearland, Gloucester for Neighbourhood Watch and Paws on Patrol members.
July has seen domestic burglary fall in Gloucester, with only 41 in the month. This has meant that the year to date burglary offences are now lower than comparable figures in 2013. Sheds and garage breaks-ins at domestic premises are also down with only 20 in the month, and it is worth noting that a number of these involve the theft of cycles.
The previously reported theft of catalytic converters from vehicles in Elmbridge and Longlevens has moved to Hucclecote with a big increase over the last couple of weeks. If you have a 4 x 4 vehicle or vehicle which is higher off the ground the exhaust systems are more readily accessible and hence more vulnerable. Please inform your friends and neighbours to ring the police on the emergency number if they witness suspicious behaviour around vehicles.
